Last Term, Year 11 and Year 12 students from VCE Music took an exciting trip to the Melbourne Recital Centre to attend VCAA’s Top Class Music and Sound, which showcases the top VCE Music Contemporary Performance, Repertoire, Composition and VCE VET Music performances in Victoria. For all of us, we learned that the assessors are looking for the complexity of songs, tone colour, dynamics and interactions between musicians – insights that will benefit all of us in our performance exams. Watching the performances, there were some real standouts, and we now have a clearer idea of how we can work towards becoming stronger musicians and performers.
