2026 Vinnies Food Drive

The generosity of our Salesian community was on full display during this year’s Vinnies Food Drive, with families, students and staff coming together to support people experiencing hardship in our local community.

The response was incredible, with the College minibus completely filled with donations. Once delivered, there was enough food to fill the entire meeting room beside St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Church.

A special mention goes to our Year 11 families, students and staff, who donated an incredible 310 kg of rice. Students and families from 11C alone contributed well over 100 kg.

Thank you also to the students who helped move, sort and prepare the donations for delivery, particularly Xavier, Samuel, Campbell, Jordan and Sam, who put in a tremendous effort loading the College minibus.

The St Vincent de Paul Society Jordanville and St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Parish were very grateful for the support and shared the following message with our community:

“Thank you very much, Salesian College, for the donation of food to the St Vincent de Paul Society Jordanville. This support will assist marginalised and disadvantaged families in the Ashwood, Chadstone and Mount Waverley communities. Approximately 125 families that we support every eight weeks will benefit from this food drive. Please extend our sincerest gratitude to the students, families and staff of Salesian College for this generous donation.”

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s Food Drive. It is a wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together to care for and support others.

Thanks again to everyone!
