Last week, four of our Year 12 leaders had the privilege of attending the Caritas Project Compassion Launch event, hosted by Emmaus College. This occasion marked the beginning of Project Compassion 2025, an initiative dedicated to fighting poverty and promoting justice worldwide. Salesian College was among the many schools across Melbourne that attended, along with Archbishop Peter Comensoli.
Since its inception in 1965, Project Compassion has been one of Australia’s longest-running charity campaigns. Last year alone, Caritas Australia assisted one million people globally.
During the event, our student leaders connected with peers from several other schools. Together, they engaged in discussions, shared ideas, and explored ways to promote and support Project Compassion within their school communities. The experience was enriching and helped further spread Caritas’ important work across different schools.
