Last week, the Year 9 cohort stepped out of the comfort of the classroom and into the city of Melbourne for the City Experience.
Over the four-day program, we visited many famous Melbourne landmarks and took part in a range of activities. At the NGV and ACMI, we explored art, film, and media exhibitions, while the Shrine of Remembrance and Old Melbourne Gaol taught us more about Australia’s history.
We also visited Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Queen Victoria Market, the MCG, Melbourne Skydeck, and the Royal Botanic Gardens, where we learnt more about Melbourne’s culture, sport, architecture, and environment.
Through this experience, we learnt how to catch public transport in the CBD and navigate around the city while also finding places to eat lunch. As Mr Peacock said, “The boys gain a sense of freedom and responsibility when exploring the city.”
Overall, the boys had an unforgettable experience exploring the city with their peers and making many new memories.
