When In Fuzhou
Our Year 9 China Program students have begun their journey in China, with their first full day in Fuzhou offering a rich mix of learning, culture and new experiences. In Luca’s reflection, he shares a glimpse into a busy and memorable day.
Today was our first proper day in China, and here is everything we did in this very jam-packed day.
We started the morning with a buffet breakfast provided by the hotel before making our way to a university to study the renowned Juncao grass and learn about its importance and contributions to vulnerable communities. After this, we had a delectable lunch at a very fancy restaurant, which was incredible on the senses. Then we traversed a majestic mountain to reach a remote location where we handmade soap and immersed ourselves in making jasmine tea and all the practices involved. Finally, to end the day, we took a beautiful river cruise on a beautiful boat, which was my highlight of the day.
So overall, our first day in China has been incredible, and I’m sure the others won’t pale in comparison.
