What Gifted Students Taught Me Beyond the Classroom

At Salesian College Chadstone, we know that understanding a young person goes far beyond what we see in their results.

Hasan A. Talukder, our Data & Enrichment Leader, has recently been published by the Australian Association for the Education of the Gifted and Talented, sharing his reflections on working with gifted learners.

In What Gifted Students Taught Me Beyond the Classroom, Hasan draws on his work with students in our select entry Biretta Program for high achieving students, challenging the assumption that gifted learners will simply “be fine”.

Through his experience in the classroom and alongside students during international immersion opportunities, he highlights something we see every day, ability does not always present in obvious ways, and no single result can capture the full picture of a young person.

It is through strong relationships, trust and meaningful learning experiences that students begin to find their voice, build confidence and engage more deeply in their learning.
