This June, 7H conducted a waste audit by examining the contents of four different school bins, identifying the types and amounts of waste found. They discovered that food waste and soft plastics made up the majority of the landfill bin contents, with a surprising amount of recyclable materials also misplaced. We encourage all students and families to consider reducing the amount of soft plastics and single-use packaging brought to school where possible.
Thank you to the students who have been placing their 10-cent recyclables into the house bins located near the chapel, as we have already raised over $100 this year for those in need through the container deposit scheme. Particular thanks to Year 10 students Zac, Liam, Tayshaun, and Alden, who have been assisting with this initiative.
