On Tuesday 2 June, our talented student musicians took to the stage for the 2026 Year 7 & Autumn Concerts.
Year 7 Music Concert
The Year 7 Music Concert is a significant milestone in the musical journey of our students and a highlight of the College calendar. The concert showcases the talent, dedication, and progress of our Year 7 musicians as they perform works prepared throughout the year as part of the Year 7 Instrumental Program. Through weekly lessons and ensemble rehearsals, students develop fundamental musical skills while learning the importance of teamwork, commitment, and perseverance.
The concert provides a performance experience that helps students build confidence and stage presence while sharing their achievements with family, friends, and the wider school community. As part of the Year 7 Music curriculum, the performance also serves as a formal assessment task contributing to students’ final Music results.
It was wonderful to see students perform with enthusiasm and pride, many of whom were appearing on stage for the first time in a formal concert setting.
Autumn Concert
The Autumn Concert provided an opportunity for students from across the College’s music ensembles to showcase their musical growth, collaboration, and dedication. Through regular rehearsals and ensemble participation, students work together towards a common goal, developing important skills such as teamwork, discipline, resilience, and confidence.
The concert celebrated the progress students have made throughout the semester and allowed them to gain valuable performance experience in front of a supportive audience. A particular highlight was the sense of community evident throughout the evening, with students encouraging one another and sharing in each other’s successes. Events such as the Autumn Concert play an important role in the Music Program, inspiring younger musicians, strengthening connections within the College community.
