It was an exciting Grand Final Week for Salesian College Chadstone, with three teams competing for a premiership across Senior Basketball and Year 7 Hockey.
Our Senior Basketball A’s got off to a fast start in their Grand Final, but unfortunately couldn’t maintain the momentum, going down 46–32 in a hard-fought contest. The Senior Basketball B’s also fought hard in a tight Grand Final, with plenty of opportunities to take control of the game. Despite their efforts, they fell just short 36–32. Well done to all players and coaches on a successful season!
The highlight of the week came from our Year 7 Hockey team, who took on De La Salle in a thrilling Grand Final. After a 2–2 draw at full time, the game went to a penalty shootout following a late Salesian goal after the final whistle was awarded from a penalty corner. The team showed incredible composure to win the shootout 3–1, securing the Year 7 Hockey Premiership.
A huge congratulations to our Year 7 Hockey Premiers! It was a fantastic achievement and a memorable week for Salesian Sport.
