ACC Sports Report

Intermediate Sport (Yr 9 & Yr 10)
Our Year 10 Basketball teams faced a challenging trip to St Joseph’s College Geelong, competing hard but ultimately falling short against strong opposition. The Year 9 Basketball team was involved in two thrilling contests against St Bernard’s, narrowly going down 54–52 in the A’s and 63–57 in the B’s. Despite the losses, the team showed great resilience and fought until the final buzzer in both matches. The Year 10 Table Tennis team made an excellent start to the season with a convincing 10–5 victory over Whitefriars. It was a composed team performance with several strong individual results. The Year 9 Table Tennis team came up against a strong St Bede’s side, going down 12–3.

Senior Sport (Yr 11 & Yr 12)
Our Senior Basketball teams opened their season in outstanding fashion, recording impressive wins over Mazenod by scores of 57–22 (A’s) and 41–23 (B’s). Both teams played with great intensity at both ends of the court and were rewarded with convincing victories. The Senior Hockey team produced one of the performances of the week, defeating Mazenod 6–2 away from home. A clinical attacking display and disciplined defensive effort ensured a well-deserved win. The Senior Table Tennis team faced a tough challenge against St Bede’s, falling 14–1. While the result didn’t go their way, the players continued to compete hard throughout the afternoon.

Junior Sport (Yr 7 & Yr 8)
The Year 8 Basketball team recorded an excellent 59–41 (A’s) victory over St Bernard’s, showcasing strong teamwork and efficient scoring. Their pressure and ball movement were key to securing the win. Unfortunately, the B’s just fell short in a hard-fought game. The Year 7 Basketball teams battled hard against St Bede’s but were defeated 44–40 (A’s) and 52–30 (B’s). All teams showed determination throughout and will take plenty of positives into next week’s fixtures. The Year 8 Table Tennis team enjoyed a successful outing, defeating Simonds 10–5. Consistent performances across the team helped secure a well-earned victory. Meanwhile, Year 7 Table Tennis team came up against a very strong Mazenod side, going down 15–0. The players remained positive throughout the match and will continue to develop with each round.
