ACC Open Netball
This week the ACC held the Open Netball Competition at the State Netball Centre, with both our teams delivering some strong performances throughout the day. Our Division 1 team secured an impressive 4th place finish, while the Division 2 team finished 5th after a competitive day of netball. Congratulations to all students and staff involved in representing the College with great skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day!
Intermediate (Yr 9 & Yr 10)
The highlight of the week came from the Year 10 Football team, who secured a thrilling 87–85 victory over Emmanuel in one of the most exciting matches of the season. The game remained in the balance throughout before Salesian held their nerve to record an important win. The Year 10 Soccer team also produced a competitive performance away to De La Salle. Despite trailing early, the team fought back strongly before eventually going down 4–3 in a closely contested encounter. Year 9 teams faced difficult opposition across both soccer and badminton. The Year 9 Soccer side battled against a strong St Bernard’s outfit, while the Year 9 Badminton team came up against an excellent Mazenod team. Unfortunately, both teams fell short of a win.
Senior (Yr 11 & Yr 12)
Our Senior teams took to the field Wednesday. In Senior Soccer A, Salesian faced Emmanuel in a high-scoring contest. Despite creating several opportunities and scoring three goals, Emmanuel proved difficult to contain on the day. The Senior Soccer B team also pushed Parade all the way in a closely fought match before narrowly going down 3–2. The Senior Football team travelled to face St Bernard’s and competed strongly throughout the afternoon against quality opposition.

The Year 8 Football team also celebrated a strong win, defeating St Bede’s 44–21 after an energetic four-quarter performance at home. On the soccer field, the Year 8 Soccer team battled hard in a tightly contested match against St Bede’s, earning a deserved 0–0 draw thanks to a disciplined defensive effort. The Year 7 Soccer A and B teams both faced challenging away fixtures against St Bernard’s, going down 3–1 despite showing resilience and determination throughout the matches. The Year 8 Badminton team fought hard against Parade but were unable to overcome a strong opponent, while the Year 7 Football side showed plenty of effort against Parade College before falling short on the scoreboard.
