ACC Sports Report

Intermediate (Yr 9 & Yr 10)
The week’s ACC Fixtures began with our Intermediate teams on Tuesday, with several impressive performances. The Year 10 Football team secured a hard-fought 85–76 victory over De La Salle in an entertaining contest, while the Year 10 Soccer team produced an outstanding display at Gardiners Reserve, defeating Emmanuel 5–1. In Badminton, our Year 9 team claimed a thrilling 8–7 win against Parade in a close encounter. There were also strong efforts from our Year 9 Football and Soccer teams, who battled hard against quality opposition, while Year 9 Soccer B produced one of the performances of the round with an impressive 10–4 victory over De La Salle away from home.

Senior (Yr 11 & Yr 12)
Wednesday saw our Senior teams take centre stage. The Senior Football team recorded a fantastic 84–73 win over Mazenod, reclaiming the Davis Johnson Cup after 3 years! On the soccer pitch, both Senior Soccer teams were dominant, with the Firsts defeating SJC Geelong 4–2 and Soccer B’s producing a commanding 7–2 victory over Simonds College. Although Senior Badminton went down to Whitefriars, the team competed strongly throughout the afternoon.

Junior (Yr 7 & Yr 8)
Thursday continued the positive momentum with several excellent results from our Year 7 and Year 8 teams. The Year 7 Badminton team travelled to Parade College and came away with an impressive 10–5 win, while the Year 7 Football team defeated Mazenod 32–23 to earn their first win of the year! Both Year 7 Soccer teams were also outstanding, with Year 7 Soccer B defeating St Joseph’s FTG 2–0 and the Year 7 Soccer A finishing the week strongly with a 3–0 victory over St Bede’s Mentone. The Year 8 Badminton team edged out St Bernard’s in another nail-biting 8–7 result, while Year 8 Soccer B secured a strong 3–2 away win against De La Salle. The Year 8 Football team fought hard against St Bernard’s in a physical contest before narrowly going down 38–30.

Across all year levels and sports, it was fantastic to see our students competing with pride and continuing to support one another throughout the week. Congratulations to all players and coaches involved on another successful round of ACC sport.
