ACC Sports Report

ACC Junior Lawn Bowls
Our students competed in the ACC Junior Lawn Bowls competition at MCC Bowls Club in Hawthorn and delivered impressive results. One team finished 2nd overall, showcasing great skill and teamwork, while our other team placed a commendable 5th in a strong field. Congratulations to all players for their effort and sportsmanship!

ACC Golf
Our golf team competed in the ACC Championship at Northern Golf Club and put in a fantastic performance, finishing 2nd in Division 2. The boys showed great composure and consistency across the course, Huge shoutout to Elbert Kim on the best score throughout the entire ACC with an incredible score of 67! Congratulations to all team members for their excellent effort and achievement!

 

ACC Cricket
Year 9 Cricket
The Year 9 Cricket team travelled to St Bede’s (East Bentleigh) and put in a strong performance to secure a well-deserved victory. Bowling first, Salesian applied excellent pressure, restricting the opposition to 8/67 off 20 overs. In reply, the boys showed great control with the bat, reaching the target comfortably at 3/68 in 12 overs. A solid all-round effort from the team contributed to the win.

Final Score: Salesian 3/68 defeated St Bede’s 8/67.

 Year 8 Cricket
The Year 8 Cricket team travelled to Parade College for a challenging match. Bowling first, Parade set an imposing total of 1/206, putting the pressure on Salesian from the outset. In reply, the boys struggled to build momentum against a strong bowling attack, finishing all out for 27.

Final Score: Parade 1/206 defeated Salesian 10/27.

Year 7 Cricket
The Year 7 Cricket team played at home against Whitefriars in a nail-biting contest. Bowling first, Salesian delivered a disciplined performance, restricting the opposition to 10/65. In reply, the boys held their nerve in a tense chase, edging past the total to finish on 8/66 and secure a thrilling victory. It was a hard-fought win that showcased great resilience and teamwork.

Final Score: Salesian 8/66 defeated Whitefriars 10/65.

 

ACC Volleyball
Year 10 Volleyball
The Year 10 Volleyball team travelled to Parade College for this week’s fixture. Both teams battled hard in a competitive match, showing good teamwork and resilience, but were unable to claim a set against a strong Parade lineup.

Final Score: Parade 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (54 Points). (A’s)

Final Score: Parade 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (57 Points). (B’s)

Year 9 Volleyball 
The Year 9 Volleyball team travelled to Mazenod for this week’s fixtures and faced a tough challenge against a strong opposition. Both A and B teams competed with spirit and determination but were outmatched by Mazenod.

Final Score: Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (54 Points). (A’s)

Year 8 Volleyball
The Year 8 Volleyball teams hosted Mazenod in a tough round of competition this week. Despite showing determination and solid teamwork, both the A and B teams were outplayed on the day.

Final Scores: Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (29 Points) (A’s); Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (36 Points) (B’s).

 Year 7 Volleyball
The Year 7 Volleyball teams travelled to Mazenod for a challenging round of matches. Despite showing plenty of effort and enthusiasm, both the A and B teams found themselves up against a well-drilled Mazenod side. The boys continued to compete hard throughout but were ultimately unable to secure a set in either match.

Final Scores: Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (29 Points) (A’s); Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (36 Points) (B’s).

 

ACC Tennis
Year 9 Tennis
The Year 9 Tennis team travelled to Mazenod for a challenging away fixture but were unable to secure the win this week. Despite some determined efforts and competitive rallies, Mazenod proved too strong across the board.

Final Score: Mazenod 12 Sets (96 Games) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (50 Games).

Year 8 Tennis
The Year 8 Tennis team hosted St Bernard’s and faced a tough contest on home courts. Despite showing solid effort and teamwork throughout the day, the boys were met by a strong St Bernard’s side. While there were some competitive rallies and hard-fought sets, Salesian ultimately fell short.

Final Score: St Bernard’s 10 Sets (63 Games) defeated Salesian 2 Sets (27 Games).

Year 7 Tennis
The Year 7 Tennis team travelled to Whitefriars. The boys showed solid determination and steady improvement across their matches but ultimately fell short against a well-organised Whitefriars side. There were plenty of competitive rallies and positive signs throughout the day, with several players putting in commendable efforts in both singles and doubles.

Final Score: Whitefriars 8 Sets (61 Games) defeated Salesian 4 Sets (39 Games).
