Year 10 Cricket
The Year 10 Cricket team returned home this week to take on St Bede’s Mentone. Batting first, the boys posted a competitive total of 118 runs. With the ball in hand, Salesian started strongly, taking some early wickets to put pressure on the opposition. However, St Bede’s steadied and managed to chase down the target. A special mention to Noah Montgomery and Shaan Loganathan, who contributed 33 and 28 runs respectively.
Final Score: St Bede’s 6/120 defeated Salesian 7/118.
Year 9 Cricket
The Year 9 Cricket team travelled to Mazenod for their Round 3 clash. After winning the toss and electing to bat, the boys showed real attacking intent, compiling 118 runs from their 20 overs. Despite the strong batting effort, Salesian couldn’t quite contain Mazenod with the ball, as the home side reached the target in 14 overs. Congratulations to Ryan Pandey, who top-scored with an impressive 54 runs. Great effort, boys!
Final Score: Mazenod 3/120 defeated Salesian 4/118.
Year 8 Cricket
The Year 8 Cricket team travelled to St Joseph’s FTG for their Round 3 clash. Batting first, the boys posted a total of 56, showing some solid partnerships and promising shots throughout their innings. Despite a determined effort in the field, including some tight bowling and energetic fielding, they were unable to defend the total and eventually came up short.
Final Score: St Joseph’s FTG 1/57 defeated Salesian 5/56.
Year 7 Cricket
The Year 7 Cricket team were at home to take on St Joseph’s FTG and chose to field first. The boys bowled with strong effort and teamwork, creating plenty of chances and keeping the pressure on throughout the innings. Chasing a solid total, Salesian started positively but couldn’t maintain the momentum, eventually being bowled out despite a determined effort with the bat.
Final Score: St Joseph’s FTG 2/116 defeated Salesian 8/63.
ACC Volleyball
Year 10 Volleyball
The Year 10 Volleyball team faced a tough away challenge against Mazenod. The A team put in a strong effort and competed hard throughout but couldn’t quite get over the line. Congratulations to Harry Katanas, who was among the best for the A team.
Final Score: Mazenod 3 Sets (75 Points) defeated Salesian 0 Sets (41 Points).
The B team also displayed great teamwork and determination, managing to take a set in a competitive match before narrowly going down. Brady Shipton was a standout performer for the B’s.
Final Score: Mazenod 3 Sets (71 Points) defeated Salesian 1 Set (55 Points).
Year 9 Volleyball
The Year 9s travelled down the freeway to take on St Joseph’s FTG and put in an impressive display. The A team showed excellent skill and composure, taking control of the match to record their first win of the season. A great performance from Declan Rowe, who was a standout for the A’s.
Final Score: Salesian 3 Sets (81 Points) defeated St Joseph’s FTG 0 Sets (72 Points).
The B team’s match was another tight battle, but the boys fought hard and followed the A team’s lead to also claim their first victory of the year. Well done, boys!

Year 8 Volleyball
The Year 8 Volleyball teams travelled to Oakleigh Recreation Centre to face St Joseph’s FTG. Both the A and B teams displayed great enthusiasm and perseverance, competing with intensity from start to finish. While they produced some excellent passages of play, St Joseph’s ultimately came away with the wins in both matches.

A’s – St Joseph’s FTG 2 Sets (74 Points) defeated Salesian 1 Set (72 Points).
B’s – St Joseph’s FTG 2 Sets (74 Points) defeated Salesian 1 Set (68 Points).
Year 7 Volleyball
The Year 7 Volleyball team travelled to Maroondah Nets to take on St Joseph’s FTG. The A team showed great determination and spirit in a highly competitive match, but despite their strong effort, they were edged out in a tight contest.
Final Score: St Joseph’s FTG 2 Sets (71 Points) defeated Salesian 1 Set (70 Points).
The B team delivered an impressive display, competing with plenty of energy and resilience. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough, as St Joseph’s FTG were too strong on the day.

The Year 10 Tennis team were at home this week to take on St Bede’s in what proved to be a challenging contest. After a slow start, the boys fought hard and managed to claim some tightly contested games. Despite their efforts, St Bede’s proved too strong on the day.
Final Score: St Bede’s 11 Sets (66 Games) defeated Salesian 1 Set (30 Games).
Year 9 Tennis
The Year 9 team travelled to St Joseph’s FTG for Round 3 and put in a terrific performance. Showing great skill and determination from the outset, the boys dominated throughout the day to record their first win of the season. Congratulations to Jakob Mraovic, who was among the standout players for Salesian.
Final Score: Salesian 11 Sets (94 Games) defeated St Joseph’s FTG 1 Set (42 Games).
Year 8 Tennis
The Year 8 Tennis team took to the courts at Chadstone Tennis Club to face St Bede’s Mentone in what proved to be a tough encounter. The boys showed solid effort and commitment throughout the day, producing some competitive rallies and moments of quality play. However, St Bede’s held the upper hand overall, with Salesian unable to claim the win this time in an intense battle.
Final Score: St Bede’s 7 Sets (52 Games) defeated Salesian 5 Sets (39 Games).
Year 7 Tennis
The Year 7 Tennis team returned to the Oakleigh Tennis Centre to take on St Joseph’s FTG and delivered their best performance of the season so far. The boys showed excellent teamwork and confidence across all matches, dominating from start to finish to record their first win of the season in convincing fashion. Well done again to Roman Shrestha, who was a standout!
