ACC Cricket
Year 7 Cricket – On a bright Melbourne day, the Year 7 boys faced Mazenod College at Salesian College (Bosco Oval). Eager to secure their first win, the boys took to the field with determination. Unfortunately, they lost the toss and batted first, finishing with a total of 8/49 after 20 overs. Mazenod, however, played aggressively, sealing their victory with a score of 2/71 in just 15 overs.
Year 8 Cricket – The Year 8 boys clashed with St Joseph’s FTG at Caloola Reserve, excited to play on fresh home turf. After losing the toss, they bowled first, with St Joseph’s setting a challenging score of 7/175. Salesian fought valiantly but fell short, ending their innings at 10/99 after 19 overs.
Year 9 Cricket – In a highly anticipated grand final rematch against St Bede’s (Mentone) at Caloola Reserve, the Year 9 boys were primed for a close battle. Despite their best efforts, they concluded the match with 10/127, while St Bede’s triumphed with 6/170.
Year 10 Cricket – Taking on De La Salle at Bosco Oval, the Year 10 boys faced a tough challenge. Winning the toss, they batted first and put up an impressive score of 2/111. However, De La Salle showcased their skill and clinched the match with a score of 4/112 in 17 overs. Great effort, boys!
ACC Volleyball
Year 7 Volleyball (A+B) – The Year 7 boys faced St Joseph’s FTG at the State Volleyball Centre, with the A team securing a stunning victory: 3 sets to 0, scoring 75 points to 52. The B team followed, aiming for the same success, but unfortunately lost 2 sets to 1, finishing with 74 points to St Joseph’s 53.
Year 8 Volleyball (A+B) – Excited for an away game, the Year 8 boys took on St Bede’s at Springers Leisure Centre. Both teams played hard but fell short, with the A team losing 3 sets to 0 (75 points to 54) and the B team also finishing 3 sets to 0 (75 points to 59).
Year 9 Volleyball (A+B) – The Year 9 boys faced a formidable opponent in Mazenod at Mazenod College. The A team fought hard but lost 3 sets to 0, with a score of 75 to 33. The B team faced similar struggles, ending with the same scoreline.
Year 10 Volleyball (A+B) – Competing against Mazenod at Oakleigh Recreation Centre, the A team faced a tough match, ultimately falling 3 sets to 0 (75 points to 31). The B team put in their best effort but also lost 3 sets to 0, with a score of 75 to 35.
ACC Tennis
Year 7 Tennis – The Year 7 tennis team went up against Mazenod at Nottinghill Pinewood Tennis Club. In a tough match, they faced a strong opponent, ending with 0 sets and 13 games to Mazenod’s 12 sets and 73 games.
Year 8 Tennis – The Year 8 boys took on Whitefriars at Oakleigh Tennis Club. Despite a commendable performance, they couldn’t secure the win, finishing with 4 sets and 68 games to Whitefriars’ 8 sets and 59 games. Well done, boys!
Year 9 Tennis – Competing against Parade at Parade College Tennis Courts, the Year 9 boys played hard but faced challenges throughout the match, ending with 3 sets and 63 games to Parade’s 9 sets and 82 games.
Year 10 Tennis – The Year 10 boys battled De La Salle at Oakleigh Tennis Club in a closely contested match. Both teams fought fiercely, resulting in a tie-on sets, but De La Salle edged ahead with 68 games to Salesian’s 67. A great display from both sides!
