As school life passes by, filled with learning alongside friends and peers, one experience that stands out most from my time at Salesian is Music Camp.
Music Camp is an opportunity to spend time with friends, fellow musicians and teachers in a fun and supportive environment. It is a place where friendships grow, talents are shared and everyone is encouraged to express themselves through music, no matter their level of experience.
Held at Don Bosco Oratory Retreat, this year’s Music Camp brought together students from Years 8 to 12 for a three day musical journey filled with rehearsals, performances and activities. From rock bands to choirs, every style of music was brought to life with energy and joy. During individual practice sessions, the retreat was alive with sound, from the lively music of the junior students to the powerful rock performances of the senior bands, while the vocalists and concert bands balanced the atmosphere with their harmonious tunes.
The food was also a highlight of the camp. From chicken parmigianas to lamb wraps, every meal was enjoyable and gave students the energy to make the most of the experience.
The joy and happiness Music Camp brings are memories that will stay with me for years to come. Looking back now, attending my first Music Camp felt like a dream, and none of it would have been possible without the support and dedication of Mr Little.
A big thank you to all the music staff and camp staff for making this year’s Music Camp such a memorable experience.
