Tech week kicked off with a Presentation for all year 7 students. Sam Kingsley from The Brainary spoke about how AI works, its various uses and pitfalls. A robot cat and humanoid were also included in the presentation and many students had an opportunity to play and talk with these robots.
The presentation was followed by TECHSPO which was open to all students. There was Robo-soccer, VR experience and coding a robot through a maze on display. Students enjoyed going through these exciting and hands on experiences.
Become and Architect for a day was a special workshop for selected year 9 students where they had to plan, draw and build a structure according to the given brief. This creative and design oriented workshop included sketching floor plans and then putting them to life by using Arckits.
Other highlights of the week were lunchtime Kahoots and Hunt game developed by our Digitech Ambassador Max Lee. Hunt was super popular and several year 12s participated in helping young year 7s deciphering the clues.
To end the week, we had organised a sweet treat for our staff! Our food tech dept conducted a cooking class where a very enthusiastic staff got to make ‘Ooh La La Chocolate Soufflé’
Thank you to my amazing team, facilities, IT and many others who helped to make this week successful and enjoyable for our students and staff.
