Today our College community paused to honour Remembrance Day, reflecting on the meaning behind Lest We Forget. Together, we remembered those who showed courage beyond measure and whose sacrifices shaped the freedoms we cherish today.
We welcomed alumni John Stretch, who completed his secondary education at the College from 1957 to 1962. John was conscripted into the Australian Army and served with the 3rd Infantry Battalion. Earlier in the day, he spoke with our Year 10 students about his experiences before joining us in the College Chapel for our service.
On Sunday morning, 2026 College Captain Xavier Arnott and 2026 Cultural Ambassador Noah Phillips attended the Oakleigh RSL Remembrance Day Service at the Oakleigh Cenotaph, along with college staff. The service, run by the Oakleigh RSL, brought together local representatives including Steve Dimopoulos and Clare O’Neil, along with members of the Oakleigh RSL community.
Across the services, we were reminded that remembrance is not only tradition, but a shared responsibility to honour the past and work towards a future of peace, compassion, and unity.
