Iconic Landmarks – Year 9 City Experience 2025

City experience was a wonderful week for all the Year 9s: with many fun-filled activities that taught us about the city that we live in. Most of us were required to make our way into the city via public transportation, to then meet in Federation Square at the start of every day. The first three days of city experience, we went along with our classes exploring certain landmarks of the city. These included:

  • ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image)
  • St. Patrick’s Cathedral
  • NGV (National Gallery of Victoria)
  • MCG
  • Shrine of Remembrance
  • Queen Victoria Market
  • Royal Botanic Gardens
  • Eureka Skydeck
  • Old Melbourne Gaol

Then, on the last day of our city experience, we were split into smaller groups within our classes (3-4 students per group) and had more freedom to spend the rest of the day exploring and researching a certain aspect of the city, such as sport, art, music, fashion etc.

Overall, the week the Year 9’s spent in the city was an eye-opening experience and one that we will likely not be forgotten anytime soon.
