Every new building has a story behind it.
For Salesian College Chadstone, the renewed Mannix Year 7 & 8 Learning Precinct represents much more than contemporary learning spaces. It reflects our commitment to giving every young person the very best start to secondary school in an environment where they are known, supported and inspired to thrive.
We’re grateful to the Catholic Development Fund (CDF) for recently featuring the story behind the precinct, exploring the vision that shaped the project and the partnership that helped make it possible.
The feature shares how the largest capital investment in the College’s history was never simply about constructing new buildings. From the beginning, the focus was on creating a place that feels welcoming, fosters strong relationships and supports the academic, personal and spiritual growth of every student.
As Principal Mark Ashmore reflects in the article, the Mannix Precinct was designed to be “a home that welcomes” — a place where students quickly develop a sense of belonging and confidence as they begin their secondary school journey.
The article also highlights the valued partnership between Salesian College Chadstone and the Catholic Development Fund. Working together, we have been able to create learning environments that will benefit our students for generations to come while remaining true to the values and traditions that have shaped our College for more than 65 years.
We thank the Catholic Development Fund for sharing our story and for their ongoing support of our College community.
We invite you to read the full feature and discover the vision, collaboration and shared commitment that brought the Mannix Year 7 & 8 Learning Precinct to life.
