Embracing “La Sagra”: A Tasty Exploration of Italian Food Festivals in Year 9 Italian Class

This term the Year 9 Italian class is focusing on “la Sagra’. We are exploring Italian food festivals and the history behind them. As part of this unit, we were very fortunate to be able to make some of these yummy treats ourselves. On Thursday, we ventured into the Food Technology kitchens where half the class made an Italian style donut called “Castagnole” and the other half made a similar pastry called “Chiacchiere”. What a delicious way to explore some of Italy’s great traditions.
