Year 11 – Holocaust Museum Excursion

Year 11 student Brodie reflects on his History class’ recent trip to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum:

“Speaking to Andy (a holocaust survivor) and exploring artefacts from the Holocaust, humanised the statistics we look at in class. That’s why the excursion to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum was so important and helpful for our understanding of what we’re learning. Furthermore, hearing Andy’s story was eye opening as to the effects such terrible events can have on a person, their family and an entire community. In addition, by educating others especially youth, awareness can be raised from them telling others and ultimately helping many people understand the Holocaust and its effects.”
