ACC Sports Blog – 26/8/22

ACC Hockey

Senior Hockey- The senior hockey boys played De La Salle at De La’s home ground. De La finished above Salesian and we knew they are a force at hockey. The boys tried really hard and the match was a very close one. The boys unfortunately fell short and lost the match 3-1. Well done on the season boys it was an amazing effort to get so far. Well done on the season and hopefully the year 11’s in this side can go one further next year.

Year 10 Hockey- The year 10 hockey team played in there first final against De La Salle. The boys tried there heart out against the top side but couldn’t get the win. The finals results were 3-1 for a De La Salle victory. Well done to all boys for the season, really good stepping stone going into there senior year of hockey at the college. Again, well done boys.

Year 8 Hockey- The year 8 hockey boys played Mazenod College at Waverley hockey centre. The year 8 boys had home advantage and played really well. It was extremely wet, which made the conditions difficult to play in. The boys did super well and now they will be playing in a grand final next week winning the match 1-0! Well done boys and good luck for next week.

 

ACC Basketball

Year 10 A Basketball-  The year 10A basketball boys took on Whitefriars in there first final. The boys travelled to MSAC to play in a must win for a match in the final. The boys were competitive all match but couldn’t get the victory with going down 49 to 36. Well done to all the boys on the season. Hopefully a different result next season. Well done boys.

Year 8 A Basketball- The year 8A basketball boys took on Parade College at MSAC. The boys had to win this one to make it into the finals for year 8A basketball. The boys played extremely well and in a tight one the boys got over the line winning  the match by 4 points! The final scores were 65-61. The boys will return next week to MSAC for the grand final. Amazing effort so far and good luck for next week.

 

ACC Table Tennis

Year 9 Table Tennis- The year 9 table tennis boys took on Mazenod for the second week in a row. The boys did really well but couldn’t get the chocolate on this occasion. The final scores were Salesian 7 matches and 35 sets to Mazenod 8 matches and 40 sets. Well done boys on a terrific season. Hopefully you boys have a different result next year and get to play in the final for year 10 table tennis.
