Dante Alighieri Poetry Competition

On Tuesday 17 August, 13 Italian students across Years 9, 10 and 11 participated in the Dante Alighieri Poetry Competition. The recitation was initially meant to take place on 22 July at Salesian’s Bosco campus, though unfortunately after two lockdown interruptions, it was decided that it would take place online. In March, each student was given an array of poems to choose from and had just over three months to practise. On Tuesday morning, the poems were recited in front of Dr John Lando, Senior Lecturer in Education, via a Teams meeting. The competition was a great opportunity to showcase the Italian speaking and pronunciation skills that the boys have learnt at Salesian. Big thank you to all the people involved in organizing the competition, especially our Italian teachers, Signora Bonne and Signora Barcellona, as well as Dr Lando for taking the time to adjudicate the competition.
