Social Justice Term 4 Update

Term 4 has marked a full term for all of our students. Much like Term 1, Term 4 is traditionally marked with a number of events; Year 12’s finishing up their schooling journeys, exams, VCE transition programs, Year 7s finishing up their first year of secondary school, and for the teachers, marking and marking, with a side of marking.

Traditionally in Term 4 our focus as a school is on the St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal. Collectively we gather Christmas items, non-perishable food, toiletries and small gifts and pass this on to St Vinnies who then distribute donations to many of the families that seek their support over Christmas Period.

This year our approach to donating to St Vinnies changed. In lieu of the Christmas hampers that Oratories would traditionally put together, at the request of St Vinnies we collected a large number of Coles and Woolworths vouchers and gift cards. In addition to this, as a College community we have raised $2,137 across two casual dress days!

On behalf of St Vinnies and the College, I would like to acknowledge and thank every single staff member, student and family who helped us to continue showing our support to St Vinnies. Despite the many challenges we have all faced, the spirit of Don Bosco is unwavering in the generosity of the Salesian College Chadstone community.

As we wind up the school year, I would like to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas and a very joyous and well deserved break for all!
