Styron Augustus

Styron Augustus was College Captain in 2013. During his time at the College, he was involved in Social Justice, Athletics, Debating, Public Speaking, Football, Cross Country and Cricket teams. He held a Student Leadership position for every year he attended Salesian College.

He received many award/accolades while at Salesian College, including the Archbishop Mannix Leadership Award in 2010, Mannix Gold Leadership Award in 2010, Omnia Award in 2012 and most notably, he finished in the Top 5 in the VCE Leadership Award, which is a state-wide award competing against 42,000 Year 12 students.

Styron went on to become a member of the Australian Salesian Youth Mentors (ASYM), a group of young people that organise retreats and camps (such as OZBOSCO) for Salesian Colleges across Australia. These camps enable students to make friends and develop their understanding of Don Bosco and the Salesian family.

Styron also helps out at the Summer, Winter and Leadership Camps that are run out of the Don Bosco Campsite located in Dromana.

He has worked at World Vision Australia, and in 2014, Styron spent a year in the Don Bosco Youth Hostel, Brunswick.

Styron’s connection to Salesian College Chadstone continues to this day, as he is currently a Learning Support Officer at Bosco Campus.
