Michael Savage
Michael was Vice-Captain of Salesian College in 1980, remembered for his leadership and drive. After graduating, he earned a place at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. Although a prestigious opportunity, Michael soon realised his path lay elsewhere. He returned home and began training as a manager at Kmart Burwood before setting off on an adventure that would shape his future. While travelling in Darwin with a friend, Michael took on labouring work to support the journey. What began as a short-term job soon sparked an idea. The pair returned to Melbourne and launched their own plastering business, marking the start of Michael’s entrepreneurial journey.
Years later, Michael and his sister embarked on a bold new project at Arthur’s Seat. What began as a humble restaurant with a small maze garden grew into something extraordinary.
The Enchanted Maze Garden, now known as Enchanted Adventure, became one of Victoria’s most loved attractions. With its lush landscapes and welcoming atmosphere, the business captured the imagination of visitors young and old.
Michael became known not just as a successful business owner, but as a passionate employer who gave young people the chance to grow and thrive. He later married Sally and together they built a home overlooking the seasonal maize maze. Michael’s story is one of vision, courage, and joy. Salesian College is proud to celebrate his remarkable journey with his induction into the Hall of Fame.
