Athletics:

ACC Athletics Carnival was held at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park. After a few interrupted years with Covid-19 and not being able to fully prepare for the carnival, it was good to have a good run into this years carnival. All the boys that attended represented the school in respectful and decent fashion.

The main performers for the day were:

  • Mitchell Langworthy 1st U13 Discuss.
  • Jamieson Ly 1st U16 Triple Jump.
  • Nick Goodman 1st U15 100m.
  • Nick Goodman 1st U15 200m.
  • Calvin Ramachandran 1st U16 High Jump.
  • Peter Holland 1st U17 400m.
  • Mitchell Langworthy 1st U13 Shot Put.
  • Andrew Byun, Sasha Ung, Nicholas Papageorgiou and Nick Goodman 1st U15 4 x 100m relay.

Senior Volleyball- Our volleyball A team had an impressive victory over De La Salle with winning 3 sets to 0. Amongst the best players were Aris Polychronopoulos, Jack Scalzi and Maiki Giannakopoulos. Our volleyball B team had an impressive win over De La Salle with winning 3 sets to 0. Amongst the best players again are Peter Holland, Harry Chetwin and Daniel Amendola. Very impressive from both sides and hopefully they can go deep into finals and for both teams maybe win the grand final in a few weeks.

Senior Tennis- Our tennis team had an impressive victory over De La Salle at Oakleigh Tennis Club. Salesian winning 11 sets and 92 games to 1 set and 38 games, many were stand outs for the day but in particular Jayden De Kauwe, Avellino Jones and Noah Sharrock. This week is a bye but luckily the boys will be able to have a practice game against a very strong school in Mazenod to hopefully prep us for the finals in a few weeks.

Senior Cricket- Another victory for our cricket boys this week. Had tough opponents in Mazenod College, which turned out to be our toughest game all season. Mazenod won the toss and elected to bat on a good day at Mazenod College. Mazenod made 6/160 off 20 overs. Sam Ison and Jack Iverson both collecting 1 wicket each. The boys had to come out and play well, which they did with stand out performer Jack Iverson. Jack had scored his 2nd century for the season with 108 off 54 balls. Jack has made over 350 runs in just 4 games of cricket. Very impressive by everyone and looking forward to finals in a couple of weeks.
