Professor Mark Dawson (Class of 1992) elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science
Professor Dawson was one of 22 leading Australian scientists recently elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) for 2021.
Mark leads the Cancer Epigenetics Laboratory at Peter Mac, where he is also a leading haematologist. Mark’s ground-breaking research in the field of epigenetics has revolutionised the treatment and outcomes of blood cancer patients.
The AAS is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious academic societies founded in 1954 and modelled on the Royal Society of London. Last year, Mark was awarded the prestigious Frank Fenner Prize for Life Scientist of the Year.
