Curious Creatures , Wild Minds
With the outbreak of COVID-19 requiring that our Years 7-10 students learn from home this term, there’s never been a better time to challenge yourself to read more!
Have you recently read a book featuring some interesting creatures or animal characters? Which did you like the most? Were there any characters that had wild minds?
This term, our Read5 Reading Competition challenge theme is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’. We’re challenging you to read as many books as you can, related to this theme. Is there a copy of a book sitting on your bookshelf at home, collecting dust? Why not start reading it?
How to Participate
- Start reading a book you have at home, or follow the links below to borrow an eBook or eAudioBook. Finding it difficult to think of a book related to this theme? We’ve created a list of eBooks to help you out – click here.
If you are attending your classes onsite at the College, we have created a Recommended List of Print Books. These books can be borrowed from The Rua Resource Centre.
How do I join this Challenge?
- Fill in our Challenge 1 – Reading Form to join this challenge.
- Commit to reading every day.
- Set a goal. Read at least 5 books this term.
- Keep a log of the books you have read. Ask your parent/guardian to sign each entry in your log.
- For every five books you read, you will earn two merits. You can earn up to 12 merits in total by reading 30 books.
- Scan your log and completed forms and email through to library@salesian.vic.edu.au by Friday 11 September 2020.
Or, if you are on site at the College:
- Read 5 books
- Fill in this card.
- Get 5 stamps from library staff.
- For every five books you read, you will earn two merits. You can earn up to 12 merits in total by reading 30 books.
- Hand in completed cards to library staff or scan and email through to library@salesian.vic.edu.au by Friday 11 September 2020.
