On Thursday 19 September, the Year 9 Italian students enjoyed a day out in the city. They experienced total immersion in the Italian language as they watched the ‘Christmas Witch’ (La befana vien di note).
An ordinary primary school teacher by day, but at night, the protagonist turns into The Christmas Witch, a magical creature who brings gifts to the good kids. This film is based on a delightful Italian belief.
Following the movie and some lunch, the boys visited the Immigration Museum where some of them were able to recognise family ties in the silver plaques displayed.
All in all, it was a very productive day and the Salesian boys did us proud. Thank you to Miss Barcellona and Mr Zhang who helped to make the excursion a success.
