At Salesian College, implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved.
TO MEET THIS STANDARD THE COLLEGE MUST ENSURE
- The college regularly reviews, evaluates and improves child safe practices.
- Complaints, concerns and safety incidents are analysed to identify causes and systemic failures to inform continuous improvement.
- The college reports on the findings of relevant reviews to staff and volunteers, community and families and children and young people.
HOW IS THE COLLEGE IMPLEMENTING THIS STANDARD
- Child safety policies and procedures are reviewed and updated biennially, with input from students and families or after a significant incident relating to a policy or when the regulatory or legislative frameworks underpinning the policy are updated or changed.
- The college community is notified of child safety policies review updates.
- A register of complaints and child safety concerns is kept and recurrently presented to the Salesian Board for review.
- A registration and sign in procedure is implemented for all college events where there is visitor participation.
