Last Friday, Salesian College staff gathered for our annual Staff Formation Day, united by a meaningful theme: Diversity and Inclusion. Together, we explored how we can continue building a community that not only celebrates our diversity but also fosters a genuine sense of belonging for everyone.
A highlight of the day was an inspiring panel of women leaders, each contributing to diversity and inclusion in unique ways across our communities. We were privileged to hear from Ann Guns (St Vincent De Paul), Lauren Hichaaba (Salesian Missions), Kate Wijeyesinghe (Monash Council – Cultural Diversity Community Development), Louise Luu (Aboriginal Catholic Ministry), and Kellie Carruthers and Olivia Curtain (Mariott Disability Support Services).
Their invaluable insights and stories encouraged us all, offering practical perspectives on fostering inclusion and embracing the richness that diversity brings. We thank these remarkable women for sharing their experiences and helping us understand how we can continue to shape a welcoming, inclusive Salesian College Chadstone community for everyone.
