In Literacy and Life in Year 7 we are learning about how we work best alone and with others. We have begun our unit on Ancient China and will be finding out about the Great Wall, warfare, society, landmarks and leaders. We are also focusing on refining our grammar and working on our writing.
This week we practiced our writing skills reflecting on our first full week as Year 7 students.
Here are some writing pieces about starting at Salesian College, Chadstone.
“I started my journey at Salesian College on the 1st of February. Immediately I thought it would be a tough, yet rewarding transition into high school. My biggest concern at the time was the fact that I had no idea what books, pencil and folders I needed. Luckily the reassuring words of my peers, Year Level Coordinator and Principal calmed my inevitable nerves.’ (Alex)
“Year 7 so far has been really great. I have made many new friends and have great relationships with all of my friends, both old and new. I have also gotten to know some of my new teachers. One of the challenges that I have to face is getting to know my way around the school and my timetable.” (Noah)
“My Salesian journey started on Wednesday the 1st of February. When I first got to school I was sweating a lot, but after I met my class mates and my Oratory teachers, I knew it was going to be okay. Learning to read the timetable was difficult. I didn’t understand why it went off days rather than day of the week. Getting ready for each subject was very different to what I was used to. Overall, my first three days at Salesian College have been wonderful.’’(Seth)
