Religion and Society Report

This year’s VCE Religion and Society Units 3/4 class is the biggest ever at Salesian College with 17 boys in the class which shows the growing popularity of the subject. Working with Dr Barclay, the boys are finding it a great subject which combines aspects of philosophy, psychology, theology, history, and literature. The first area of study in Unit 3 relates to our search for meaning, so the concepts we are looking at are really huge and absorbing, and lead to much thought and discussion. As we are coming to realise, the relationship between religion and society is a complex one and studying it can teach us much about ourselves and our world.
