ACC Sports Blog – 19/8/22

ACC Hockey

 Senior Hockey- The senior hockey boys took on Emmanuel in a must win match for finals. The boys played well in a low scoring game with winning the match 2-0. There were too many for the best so the coach hasn’t given any votes on this occasion. Well done boys, good luck for finals next week.

Year 10 Hockey- The year 10 hockey boys took on St. Bede’s at Mentone Grammar Fields. The boys needed a win to get a top two spot in the finals. The final scores were 2-2. Amongst the best were Oliver De Luca, Zac Dunne and Diesel Williams. Well done boys and good luck for finals.

Year 9 Hockey- The year 9 hockey boys took on St. Joseph’s FTG at Waverley hockey. This was the last game for the season, the boys didn’t disappoint with winning the match 10-0. Massive win and many amongst the best but the best three were Jaiden D’Rozario, Samuel Iverson and Ethan Collins. Well done boys and good work on the season and nearly made it to finals this season. Well done boys.

Year 8 Hockey- The year 8 hockey team took on St. Mary’s College at Waverley Hockey. The boys were keen to get a win and get a home final for next week. The boys did well and will be playing in a home final next week. The final scores were 5-0 for a Salesian win. Amongst the best were Zac Raffa, Misha-El Seane, Jared Fernandez and Angus Cormack. Well done boys and good luck for next week.

Year 7 Hockey- The year 7 hockey boys took on Mazenod College. The boys knew it was going to be a close hard game. It was the last for the year 7 hockey team as well, so that wanted to go out with a win. The boys won the match 2-0 in the end. Well done to everyone for a great year and nearly making finals, hopefully next year that can change. Amongst the best were William Franklin, Cooper Allan and William Newman. Well done boys.

 

ACC Basketball

Senior A & B Basketball- The senior basketball boys played in there last game for the season. The boys took on Whitefriars College at Waverley Basketball. The A’s played first and played well but couldn’t get the chocolates on this occasion. The final scores were Whitefriars 45 and Salesian 33. Amongst the best were Oliver Arnott, Jack Scalzi and James Peluso. The B’s played next with the final scores being Whitefriars 73 to Salesian 38 points. Amongst the best players were Angus Stanton, Seb Millares and Roman Velona. Well done on the season boys!

Year 10 A & B Basketball- The year 10 basketball boys took on De La Salle at De La Salle College. The A’s played first with De La Salle A’s being one of the better teams in the competition. The A’s finals scores were De La Salle 62 to Salesian 56. Close game, amongst the best were Jun Lee, Isaac McKnight and Tom Washington. The B’s played next with needing to win to make finals. They needed a huge win, the final scores were De La Salle 25 to Salesian 54. Amongst the best were Adam Kuruvilla, Benji Mathieson and Ricky Theodoropoulos. Well done boys.

Year 9 A & B Basketball- The year 9 basketball boys took on Mazenod at Waverley Basketball for our last match of the season for the year 9 basketball boys. The A’s played first with the final scores being Mazenod 49 to Salesian 35. Amongst the best were Oliver Mann, Wissam Malaeb and Cooper Keleher. The B’s played next with the final scores being Mazenod 40 and Salesian 19. Amongst the best were Alvin Lee, Thenuk Devendra and Harrison Window. Congratulations for the last game of the year boys and well done for the season.

 

ACC Table Tennis

Senior Table Tennis- The senior table tennis boys took on Emmanuel College, the boys started well with winning very singles match to start. The final scores were 15 matches and 67 sets Salesian to 0 matches and 8 sets to Emmanuel. Really good match from the boys. Amongst the best were Marcellino Baselyous, Gishain Fernando and Tom Gardner. Well done boys.

Year 10 Table Tennis- The year 10 table tennis played St. Bernard’s at St. Bernard’s College. The boys played in a must win match. The finals scores were 8 matches and 38 sets to St. Bernard’s and 7 matches and 37 sets to Salesian College. A very close game and well done to both teams for the match. Amongst the best were Zidane Heldt, Fadhal Hussein and Krish Angi.

Year 9 Table Tennis- The year 9 table tennis played Mazenod at the Bosco hall. The boys played in a match that could make them get into the top two for the competition. The final scores were 10 matches and 47 games to Mazenod to 5 matches and 28 sets to Salesian. Amongst the best were Josh Schroder, Andrew Byun and Matthew Ramman.

Year 8 Table Tennis- The year 8 table tennis had there last game for the season against Simonds College. Going into the match, they knew Simonds was one of the better schools at table tennis. The boys played well but couldn’t get in the win on this occasion. Amongst the best were Lucas Smith, Timmy Burns and Joel Ajani. Well done boys.

Year 7 Table Tennis- The year 7 table tennis boys took on Mazenod College. In there last game for the season. The final scores were Mazenod 9 matches and 43 sets to Salesian 6 matches and 32 sets. Well done boys on a good season. Amongst the best were Navik Rathnasinghe, Theodore Koutales and James Moutafis.
