Currently in maths, we are working on a project that implements measurements into a real-world situation. Working in groups, we are tasked with designing a theoretical zoo, based near Scotchman’s creek in Chadstone. Within the project, the conditions given are that there must be a minimum of 8 buildings/enclosures, including triangular prisms, cylinders and composite 3D shapes. It is the student’s job to determine the measurements and dimensions of the enclosures as well as the animals living in them. The project allows us to experience working in a collaborative environment and fulfilling the roles assigned to us in the task. It has been an enjoyable experience working with others during the past week and has been engaging.
