Salesian College Chadstone VCAL students and staff members raised over $18,717 for the Leukaemia Foundation, in a World’s Greatest Shave Fundraiser.
Team Salesian raised more than twice their initial fundraising target of $8,000.
Three students and three staff members shaved their heads on Friday 26 March 2021.
Mrs Sarah Roberts shaved her head in tribute to her father, who lost his battle with Leukaemia in July 2020.
“I am shaving my head to recognise the Leukaemia Foundation for the support they provided my family”, reflects Sarah.
“The Leukaemia Foundation’s research is vital. If my Dad had been diagnosed four years earlier, he would have passed away in 6 months. The treatments he received did not exist. Because of the research that has been done, he was able to live for four years after his initial diagnosis,” acknowledges Sarah.
The World’s Greatest Shave Fundraiser is a Salesian College Chadstone tradition.
