During Don Bosco Oratory Week this year, despite the difficult circumstances of COVID-19, our community was able to generously donate to a desperately needed project in a Salesian School in Cambodia. $4,008.50 was donated to Don Bosco Kep Sun, to be used for a computer laboratory. At present the students are borrowing laptops when they can, making the continuity of their learning difficult. We are pleased to note that Fr Alberio is extremely grateful for the contribution of the community at Salesian College Chadstone.
“I am aware that Salesian College Chadstone is functioning online and off site. I know that you all are not allowed to travel beyond 5kms from your house. It may be that many of your own family members in Melbourne are going through a financial crisis. Yet you all have thought about us. You have been generous to us and have ‘given,’ even when it hurts. I am thankful to each and everyone of you. Like it says in Mark 12:44, you are blessed because out of your poverty, you put in everything, all you had to live on.”
