Project Compassion Update

Caritas Australia’s annual fundraising and awareness raising appeal aims to bring together thousands of Australians in solidarity with the world’s poor; to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity. Running through the six weeks of Lent each year, Project Compassion is an extraordinary, ongoing demonstration of the faith, love and generosity of caring supporters, all in the name of justice and peace. It is traditionally our Term One fundraising focus.

Project Compassion’s 2020 theme is ‘Let’s go further together’. As Pope Francis says, “Cultivate with Love the seeds of goodness, beauty and truth that God sows in every new generation”. So this year, Project Compassion celebrates how our efforts can transform lives, whilst providing vital learning and renewed hope to the children, women and men who are most vulnerable to extreme poverty and injustice around the world.
