Senior Sport
Basketball A – It was a tough game to start the season, going down to a very talented St Bede’s team 27-93. Our best players were Nathan Bui, Josh Dean and Stefan Fernando.
Basketball B – St Bede’s were too good once again, handing us our second loss for the day 27-64. Peter Tzitzivakos, James Carrig and Kevin Lee were our best.
Hockey – We managed to come away with a 1-1 draw against Parade after tying the game in the final 2 minutes. Our best players were Scott Fisher, Jacob Curry and Eamon McKenzie.
Table Tennis – Despite the boys going down 2/25 to 13/50, they were competitive against Parade. Kenny Pham, Luca Airo-Farulla and Jivan Datt were our best players.
Intermediate Sport
Year 9 Basketball A – Had a tough loss to Mazenod 22-37. Best players were Aris Polychronopoulos, Mitch Wain and Enrique Soria.
Year 9 Basketball B – A great start to the season for the boys, beating Mazenod 42-32. Lachlan Deayton, George Biliew and Jackson O’Meara were our best.
Year 9 Hockey – Fantastic start to the term, with a commanding 9-0 victory against Mazenod. Ash Curry, Tom Blaikie and Daniel Amendola were our best on the day.
Year 9 Table Tennis – Unfortunately went down to a very talented Mazenod outfit, 1/11 to 14/64. Andrew Chen was the standout player, with Kevin Kang and Luca Hill also performing well.
Year 10 Basketball A – Great start to the season with a 35-22 win against CBC St Kilda. Thomas Valle, Avo Meguerditchian and Emmanuel Efstathiou were our best.
Year 10 Basketball B – A close game but it was back to back wins for the Year 10s, taking out CBC 40-36. Francis Maimarosia, Seb Filipovic and Nick Orlando played well.
Year 10 Hockey – St Bede’s were too good for us on the day, as we went down 10-1. Tom Cashman, Josh Eames and Dom Russo were our best players.
Year 10 Table Tennis – It wasn’t a good day for the Intermediate table tennis teams, losing 1/15 to 14/60 to St Bede’s. Our best players were Phil Kasimis, Chris Kaltsis and Christian Locantro.
Junior Sport
Year 8 Basketball A – A great start for our Year 8’s, defeating a strong St Bernard’s team 44-35. Suraj Zabalegui, Max Sykes and Harry Chetwin were our best.
Year 8 Basketball B – Another great performance for the Year 8’s, defeating St Bernard’s 24-17 in a low-scoring affair. Louis Nousis, Daniel Valle and Alex Valle were our best.
Year 8 Basketball C – A tough loss for the C team, going down to St Bernard’s 37-22. Our best players were Sebastian Millares, Viran Kanathigoda and Sam Wallbridge.
Year 8 Basketball D – A nail-biting defeat in a low-scoring match, losing 19-18 to St Bernard’s. We had good performances from Stephen Sakellarios, Tyler De Sa and Bradman Docherty.
Year 8 Hockey – A massive win for the boys, defeating Emmanuel 8-0. Gus Roach, Lachie McFarlane and Patrick McMahon played very well.
Year 8 Table Tennis – Our only table tennis victory for the week, with a strong 11/54 to 4/21 win against St Bernard’s. Nimal Valanki, Tom Gardner and David James were our best players.
