Salesian College will be hosting a Subject Selection Information and Expo Night on Tuesday 25 June, commencing at 7.00pm for students currently in Years 9 – 11 and their parents/guardians.
The purpose of this evening is to ensure students have all the necessary information required to make informed decisions regarding their subject choices for 2020. The evening will begin with a briefing in Year Level Groups and culminate in the Hall where students and their parents/guardians will have the opportunity to explore the subjects on offer and discuss their subject specific queries with Heads of Departments and senior teaching staff.
Subject selection handbooks containing the structure of the curriculum framework and the subject offerings for 2020 are available via PAM and can be located under Knowledge Banks – Subject Selection from the dates specified below.
Please note that the formal process of selecting subjects using the Web Preferences system will begin on Tuesday 16 July and close at 4.00pm on Friday 2 August. Students will soon receive an email containing their Web Preferences login details, as well as further information about the practicalities of subject selection.
On a number of occasions throughout Semester 1, the requirements for gaining access to particular subjects have been made available to all members of the College community. A copy of this document is also available on PAM. Please note that students who have not met the requirements as set out in this document will be blocked from selecting those subjects for 2020. Parents/guardians who feel that compelling circumstances apply are invited to assist their son in completing the Subject Appeal Form that is also located on PAM. For reasons which will be outlined at the Information Night, appeals will certainly not be successful if there is a substantial difference between a student’s achievement and the subject requirement. Any Appeal Forms must be completed and returned to the relevant Year Level Coordinator by 9.00am on Monday 22 July.

Year 8 Subject Selection Information Night
Salesian College will be hosting a Subject Selection Information Night on Tuesday 25 June, commencing at 7.00pm for the parents and guardians of students currently in Year 8. This Information Night will take place in the Mannix Campus’ multi-purpose room.
The purpose of this evening is to ensure parents and guardians have the necessary information required to support their son in the subject selection decision-making process. It also provides the opportunity to tour the Year 9 Mannix Campus.
