General FAQs

When should I enrol my child?

Year 7 enrolment applications must be received by the College by the end of February in the year that your son is in Grade 6. Current year and Year 8-12 enrolment applications can be lodged at any time.

How are places allocated?

Places are allocated according to our Enrolment Guidelines and in accordance with Catholic Education Office Policy.  Refer to enrolment key dates here.

Which areas (parishes) are considered a priority for Salesian College?

In accordance with our Enrolment guidelines the Priority Parishes* for Salesian College are as follows:

* Please Note: Priority parish refers to the student’s Parish of residence (not the location of the Primary School attended)

Can I apply to more than one school?

Yes, you can apply to multiple secondary Colleges. Neighbouring schools are required to share lists of applicants names. Each school MUST give consideration to the residence of the applicant within in priority Parish.

How much is the application fee?

There is a $50 (non-refundable fee to be paid at the time of lodgment of the application.)

When will I know if my son will be offered a place?

All Catholic secondary Colleges are obliged to make their offers at the same time. These offers are generally mailed in mid-April of the year prior to entry.

How will my son get to Salesian College?

Salesian College is well served by Public transport. Its handy location to the Chadstone shopping centre means that f you can get a bus to Chadstone it is a short bus ride to the College. We also operate Charter Bus services from Narre Warren / Keysborough areas. Full details here.
